   Flaherty drives in four in Pearl River win over Stony Point

   Pearl River to play South Orangetown for Kayser Tournament title

 

    PEARL RIVER -- Sean Flaherty had four RBI and Matt Russo drove in two runs yesterday as Pearl River defeated Stony Point, 15-0 in a Billy Kayser Memorial Tournament semifinal at Pearl River Little League.

    Pearl River will play South Orangetown, a 9-6 winner over West Nyack, in the championship game tomorrow, 6:30 p.m. The two teams played in the Rockland County 9-year-old championship game with Pearl River prevailing.

    Brendan Tarsnane had two hits and Liam McLinskey and Kieran Creighton each had two hits and a RBI as Pearl River banged out 12 hits.

    Jeffrey Long allowed one hit in three innings -- a Glenn Moran double -- and McLinskey pitched the fourth inning.

   Pearl River outslugs South Orangetown, 12-7, advances to Kayser semis

   Six-run second inning propels Pearl River, Stony Point awaits in semis

 

   PEARL RIVER -- Denis Fleming had two hits and three RBI and Jeffrey Long and Sean Flaherty had two RBI apiece yesterday as Pearl River beat South Orangetown, 12-7 in a Billy Kayser/Alicia Brady Memorial Tournament game at Pearl River Little League.

    Pearl River will play Stony Point in one semifinal with West Nyack taking on South Orangetown in the other semifinal. Both games are scheduled for 6 p.m., Tuesday.

    Long and Flaherty each had their two RBI in the six-run second inning. Jonathan Farley contributed two hits.

    Sean Peterson drove in two runs and John Veraja doubled twice and had a RBI for South Orangetown.

  Pallogudis throws third consecutive shutout for West Nyack

   Winning pitcher registers no-hitter, also homers, drives in five runs

 

   PEARL RIVER -- Luke Pallogudis threw a no-hitter and also drove in five runs yesterday as West Nyack won for the third consecutive time by shutout, 18-0 over Suffern in a Billy Kayser/Alicia Brady Memorial tournament game at Pearl River Little League.

    West Nyack will play South Orangetown in a semifinal Tuesday, 6 p.m.

    Pallogudis belted a three-run homer over the center-field fence. Wes Jacarusso collected three hits and Brendon Berrigan and Joey Solomon (who scored four runs) added two hits apiece. Gilbert Almodovar, Danny Alaimo and T.J. McIvor also had RBI.

    West Nyack assistant coach Paul Solomon said catcher Chris Curran had an excellent defensive game.

   Dimmick throws one-hitter in West Nyack win over Stony Point

     Solomon collects two hits, drives in three runs

 

    PEARL RIVER -- Chris Dimmick tossed a one-hitter and struck out six yesterday as West Nyack beat Stony Point, 10-0 in a Billy Kayser/Alicia Brady Memorial Tournament game at Pearl River Little League.

     It was West Nyack's second consecutive one-hitter, following Matt Kim's performance against Nanuet. West Nyack will play Suffern, tonight, 6 p.m. 

     Joey Solomon tripled, singled and drove in three runs and Wes Jacarusso and Chris Curran had two RBI apiece. Brenden Berrigan and Danny Alaimo each collected two hits. Alaimo finished the game with a double play, snagging a ground ball, tagging the runner out and throwing to first.

     David Ramirez had the Stony Point hit.

 

     Seven-run first inning powers Nanuet to win over Suffern

     Zaro leads offense with two hits, two RBI

 

     PEARL RIVER -- Michael Zaro had two hits, two RBI and scored two runs yesterday as Nanuet defeated Suffern, 15-2 in a Billy Kayser/Alicia Brady Memorial Tournament game at Pearl River Little League.

     Nanuet is 2-1 and will finish out pool play with Stony Point, tomorrow, 10 a.m.

     Chris Fisher (four innings) and Kevin Shepardson (one inning) combined for the win. Fisher had seven strikeouts. He also went 2 for 2 with a RBI.

     William Ellingwood smoked a two-run triple in the fifth inning and Logan Zivec contributed a two-run double in the second inning.

    McKee tosses three-hitter in Pearl River win over Haverstraw

     Creighton leads offense with three hits, two RBI

 

    PEARL RIVER -- Fresh off of its Rockland County 9-year-old tournament championship, Pearl River continued rolling.

     Jack McKee tossed a three-hitter and struck out 10 yesterday as Pearl River defeated Haverstraw, 11-0 in five innings at the seventh annual Billy Kayser/Alicia Brady Memorial Tournament at Pearl River Little League.

     McKee also helped himself with three RBI. Kieran Creighton led the offense with three hits and two RBI and Brendan Tarsnane added two hits.

     Pearl River will play Ramapo tomorrow, 8 p.m.

     Bill MacMillan doubled for Haverstraw.

     South Orangetown defeated Ramapo, 16-2, in the other baseball game last night.

     Kim throws complete-game one-hitter in West Nyack victory over Nanuet

     Pallogudis hits mammoth home run in 11-0 win

 

    PEARL RIVER -- Matt Kim threw a complete-game one-hitter with seven strikeouts yesterday as West Nyack defeated Nanuet, 11-0, in five innings, of a Billy Kayser/Alicia Brady Memorial Tournament game at Pearl River Little League.

     West Nyack will play Stony Point and Nanuet will take on Suffern tomorrow. Both games are scheduled for 6 p.m.

     Kim allowed a Brandon Lyons single to left field in the third inning.

     Pallogudis belted a solo home run to center field in the fifth inning. The ball cleared the center-field fence by 30 feet.

    Chris Dimmick had 3 hits and scored three runs while Chris Curran, Joey Solomon and T.J. McIver each had two hits and two RBI.

 

     Ramos, Vetter combine on a four-hitter in Stony Point win

     Ramirez, O'Brien drive in two runs apiece

 

    PEARL RIVER -- Justin Ramos and John Vetter collaborated on a four-hitter yesterday as Stony Point defeated Suffern, 7-4 in a Billy Kayser/Alicia Brady Memorial Tournament game at Pearl River Little League.

     Stony Point will face West Nyack and Suffern plays Nanuet tomorrow, both at 6 p.m.

     Ramos allowed one hit in his three innings and Vetter struck out four to earn the save. David Ramirez and Billy O'Brien drove in two runs apiece. Kevin Franco had the eventual game-winning RBI and Steven Travaglini had two hits.

     Kayser/Brady Tournament returns tonight with full schedule

     Three baseball games, two softball games to be played

 

     Following last night's rainouts, five games will be played tonight at the seventh annual Billy Kayser/Alicia Brady Memorial Tournament at Pearl River Little League.

     There are three baseball games going at 6 p.m. with Nanuet playing West Nyack, Haverstraw facing East Ramapo and Suffern meeting Stony Point.

     In softball, Nanuet will play Clarkstown and Congers faces South Orangetown, both games starting 6 p.m.

     Haverstraw opens Kayser tournament with 7-2 win over Ramapo

        Rivera drives in three runs, MacMillan homers

 

        PEARL RIVER -- Evan Rivera had three RBI to back the pitching of Sean Liquori yesterday as Haverstraw opened the Billy Kayser/Alicia Brady Memorial Tournament with a 7-2 win over Ramapo at Pearl River Little League.

        Haverstraw will play East Ramapo tomorrow.

        Liquori pitched into the fourth inning, allowing two runs on three hits and Juwan Lopez and Jonathan Martinez finished it off. Rivera laced a two-run triple and Luke MacMillan crushed a solo home run.        

 

     Wain's three hits, three RBI fuel Nanuet's 6-4 win over Suffern

      Shepardson collects three hits, scores two runs

 

      PEARL RIVER -- Matt Wain had three hits and three RBI and Kevin Shepardson had three hits and scored twice yesterday as Nanuet overcame Suffern, 6-4 in a game at the Billy Kayser/Alicia Brady Memorial Tournament at Pearl River Little League fields.

       Chris Fisher (3 1/3 innings) and Brandon Lyons  (2 2/3 innings) combined for nine strikeouts with Fisher chalking up seven. Aidan Gallagher doubled, singled, scored a run and drove in a run.

Billy Kayser/Alicia Brady Tournament

 

   Billy Kayser/Alicia Brady Tournament opens today in Pearl River

 

   The seventh annual Billy Kayser/Alicia Brady Tournament begins today at Pearl River Little League fields with two baseball games and two softball games.

     The tournament is held in honor of Kayser, a former Pearl River little league baseball player, and Brady, a former Pearl River little league softball player, who both passed away in car accidents. It will run today through Wednesday, July 28 and is open to nine-year-old baseball players and nine-year-old softball players.

     Defending champion Pearl River highlights the nine-team baseball division, which is divided into two groups. The groups are as follows:

     Group 1: Pearl River, East Ramapo, Haverstraw, Ramapo and South Orangetown.

     Group 2: Nanuet, Stony Point, Suffern and West Nyack.

     Pearl River is also the defending softball champion and headlines the five-team field which includes Clarkstown, Congers, Nanuet and South Orangetown.
